Ja, das hast du verständlich geschrieben. Und es macht auch durchaus Sinn. Mich wundern nur gerade so Sätze wie "Was he imagining things? Could all this have anything to do with the Potters? If it did... if it got out that they were related to a pair of - well, he didn't think he could bear it." oder "The Potters knew very well what he and Petunia thought about them and their kind."
Dieses "a pair of" oder "them and their kind"
klingt für mich schon danach, als wüsste er, was sie sind oder kann es zumindest erahnen, traut sich nur nicht, es auszusprechen bzw. es auch nur zu denken.
