This portfolio showcases the one hundred exceptional images chosen as the winners of the 2016 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. An international jury selected these remarkable pictures for their artistic merit and originality from nearly 50.000 entries. Together, they represent the work of 20 different nationalities and of both professional ans non-professional photographers of all ages, including the next generation of young photographers.

Rezension:
Im vergangenen Jahr konnten der Wildlife-Photographer-of-the-Year-Wettbewerb das 50-jährige und die Publikation der Preisträgerfotos in Buchform das 25-jährige Jubiläum begehen. Doch das stellte natürlich keinen Endpunkt dar, und so fand 2016 der mittlerweile 51. Wettbewerb statt, aus dessen Ergebnissen das vorliegende 26. Portfolio entstand.
Genau wie seine Vorläufer erscheint auch das diesjährige Portfolio wieder als sauber verarbeitetes Hardcover mit Schutzumschlag mit Bildern in guter Druckqualität auf hochwertigem Papier. Wie man es von dieser Reihe gewohnt ist, sind alle Bilder großformatig wiedergegeben und mit umfangreichen Daten zum Motiv sowie der Entstehung des Bildes versehen. Somit stellt auch das 2016er Portfolio wieder eine Freude für alle Freunde des Naturfotos dar.

Fazit:
Auch das 26. Wildlife-Photographer-of-the-Year-Portfolio erfüllt die hohen Erwartungen an diese Naturfoto-Olympiade wieder vollständig.
