Meine Meinung:
Da Rachel Gibson mit Büchern wie "See Jane Score" (Sie kam, sah und liebte) und "Sex, Lies and Online Dating" (Gut geküsst ist halb gewonnen) auf meiner Auto Buy-Liste gelandet ist und ich mich auf ein Wiedersehen mit den Chinooks gefreut habe, habe ich mir natürlich auch sofort ihr neues Buch "True Love and Other Disasters" gekauft.
Nachdem ich Rachel Gibsons locker-leichten Schreibstil und ihre unterhaltsamen Geschichten bisher immer sehr genossen habe, war ich von diesem Roman doch eher etwas enttäuscht. Der Schreibstil ist zwar in Ordnung, die typische romantisch-fröhliche Stimmung kam bei mir jedoch nicht auf - die Charaktere und die Story haben mich einfach nicht so gepackt.
Doppelt schlimm war das, da auch noch die Geschichte einen leichten Déjà-Vu-Eindruck hervorruft - was dem ein oder anderen, wir mir auch, wohl schon beim Durchlesen der Inhaltsangabe aufgefallen sein dürfte.
Das Grundgerüst der Geschichte ist in diesem dritten Teil der Chinooks-Serie nahezu identisch mit dem von SEPs "It Had to Be You" (Ausgerechnet den?) - "Bimbo"-Frau, die eigentlich gaaaanz anders ist, erbt (SEP: vom Vater, R. Gibson: vom Ehemann) hocherfolgreiches Sportteam (SEP: Football, RG: Eishockey), verliebt sich in Teamleader (SEP: Trainer, RG: Captain) und kämpft gegen Vorurteile, ihre Unwissenheit und die Bösen Stiefverwandten (SEP: Halbbruder/Cousin o.ä., RG: Stiefsohn).

Hätte ich das Buch vor dem von SEP gelesen, wären es wohl schöne 4 Sterne geworden, nachdem ich den Vergleich habe, gibt es von mir leider nur recht knappe drei bis gerade noch .
