David Wiesner wurde 1956 in Bridgewater/New Jersey, USA geboren. Er studierte an der Rhode Island School of Design und veröffentlichte 1979 sein erstes Buch. Für "Tuesday", sein viertes Bilderbuch, erhielt er die amerikanische Caldecott Medal. David Wiesner lebt mit seiner Familie in Milwaukee/Wisconsin.
